SEOUL, KOREA -- Seoul Semiconductor, one of the world’s leading LED manufacturers announced today that its Acriche A2 and A3 series have been evaluated and found in compliance with the requirements and therefore is approved to bear the UL Component Recognition Mark. This, after the CE and TUV, confirmed that Acriche conforms to their stringent global standards for product component safety.
Underwriters Laboratories Inc., renowned for its stringent and unbiased product safety testing, has received worldwide recognition as an important safety standard to meet for many industries. Acriche's successful completion of the certification process, combined with a thorough follow up process to insure continuous compliance with the applicable requirements for eligibility to bear the UL mark will play a key role in increasing and accelerating its global market adoption.
“As the technology and efficiency of LEDs improve, Luminaries manufacturers will be able to choose from a broader set of components giving them more flexibility to design products that meet the market needs. Acriche is a great example of innovation in the LED lighting space and we at UL are honored to be able to assist with certification programs that insure that these products meet or exceed the appropriate industry-defined safety requirements”. Said Eli Puszkar, general manager, UL’s Lighting SBU.
The UL recognition validates that Acriche A2 and A3 meet applicable UL requirements. “Many customers have asked for the reassurance of UL for our Acriche products”, said Jing Mo, Director of Technical Operations of Seoul Semiconductor. “By participating in UL’s Component Recognition Program, our customers will be able to design their products using Acriche products with even more confidence that their products will be safe”.
