Sunnyvale, California, USA – August 14, 2006 – Bridgelux, Inc. (formerly eLite Optoelectronics), a leading supplier of energy saving, power-LED chips, today announced the addition of key personnel to its management team. Dr. Dave Bour, named an Agilent Fellow in 2000, is joining as Chief Scientist at Bridgelux; Dr. Ghulam Hasnain joins as a Senior Scientist; and Gloria Fan, previously with UTStarcom, joins the organization as Chief Financial Officer.

Most recently serving with Applied Materials’ new business development group, Dr. Bour was part of Agilent Laboratories in Palo Alto, where his high level of scientific contributions earned him the honor of Agilent Fellow and Fellow of the IEEE in 2000. Dr. Bour received a B.S. degree in Physics from MIT in 1983, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1987. He has published more than 200 articles and been granted 60 U.S. patents. Dr. Ghulam Hasnain, formerly VP of Advanced Technology with LuxNet, brings over 20 years of experience in optoelectronics and holds several patents.

Bour and Hasnain join an all-star R&D team which includes Dr. Jeff Ramer, who significantly contributed to the development of Emcore/Veeco’s E300 scale GaN MOCVD reactor, and Dr. Steve Lester, who developed some of the world’s first high power InGaN LED chips while with Agilent and Hewlett Packard. The R&D team is headed by Dr. Heng Liu, Bridgelux founder and CTO.

Gloria Fan will oversee the company’s worldwide financial, legal and HR structure and brings over 15 years of experience in finance and operations for high technology companies. At UTStarcom, initially as VP of Finance and most recently as VP of Global Business Operations, Ms. Fan oversaw the company’s IPO. “Bridgelux is rapidly developing a track record of innovation in a high-value, high-growth industry, which enables us to attract top talent,” cites Bridgelux President and CEO Dr. Robert Walker. “Ms. Fan brings us financial maturity that is critical for a company serious about its global operations. Dr. Bour is not only respected throughout the industry, but he has his own track record of development in a competitive, patent-heavy market. It’s one thing to invent, it’s something entirely different to invent properly and provide customers with IP-protected solutions.”Bridgelux is a founding member of IPSLA, the IP Secure Lighting Association, which places a strong emphasis upon diligently respecting other companies’ intellectual property and driving industry innovation in combination with “IP secure” solutions.
