Seattle – July 29, 2009 Evluma, a manufacturer of energy efficient SSL lighting products, has signed a regional distribution agreement with Tarheel Electric Membership Association Inc. (TEMA), a cooperative that offers central purchasing and materials supply services to the 26 member electrical cooperatives of the North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation (NCEMC). In an exclusive agreement, TEMA will provide Evluma’s SSL products, including the Clearlight 40W replacement lamp/ luminaire, to all 26 North Carolina cooperatives and municipalities.
“As North Carolina’s central material supply and central purchasing cooperative, Evluma feels that TEMA is ideally situated to promote the Clearlight 40W LED replacement lamp / luminaire within the state of North Carolina. We are excited to have TEMA’s insights into the North Carolina markets and look forward to working with them to meet North Carolina’s energy efficiency goals,” says Keith Miller, President and CEO of Evluma.
The 40W LED Clearlight is replacement lamp/ luminaire for NEMA ‘dusk till dawn’ outdoor fixtures. Historically, these fixtures use up to 175W Mercury Vapor (MV) or 150W High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamps. With a power factor of ≥ 0.9 and the ability to bypass the legacy ballast, the Clearlight uses over 75% less electricity than a 175W MV lamp, says the company. An active cooling system keeps the thermal junction temperature low, resulting in long life and delivering an estimated L70 at 70,000 hours or longer. Dark sky friendly, the lamp’s designed light cut-off reduces light pollution. Clearlight luminaries are Mercury free.
