Avago Technologies’ 3-Watt Moonstone Power LEDs Recognized by Readers of Germany’s Elektronik Magazine
Power LEDs Awarded Second Place in ‘Optoelectronics Product of the Year’ Category

Avago Technologies, a leading supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications, was awarded second place in the 'Optoelectronics Product of the Year' category by the readers of Germany’s Elektronik magazine for the its ASMT-Mx20/Mx22 3-Watt Moonstone White Power LEDs. Avago’s ASMT-Mx20/Mx22 was voted one of the most innovative products of 2008.
Avago’s ASMT-Mx20/-Mx22 surface-mount LEDs, which target designers of solid-state lighting applications, are capable of being driven at high currents with typical light output of 145 lumens (lm) of illumination to deliver one of the best output performances in the industry. These 3W LEDs are ideal for use in streetlights, architectural, portable, retail, and lighting applications.
The ‘Optoelectronics Product of the Year’ award was presented to Anton Sonneveld, European product marketing manager for LED products, Avago Technologies, at the awards ceremony which was held March 12 in Munich.
“This award indicates that Avago’s LED products have a very good reputation in the marketplace,” Sonneveld said. “We have several new innovative products coming up in 2009 which will substantiate this perception.”
Elektronik magazine has recognized the most innovative and interesting products annually for the past 11 years. The editorial staff of Elektronik pre-selected 111 products over 10 different categories, which was featured in the 26/2008 issue, and the magazine readers were asked to vote on what they felt were the most innovative products of 2008. This year, over 10,000 readers participated in the voting. The first three winners in each category were invited to the March awards ceremony in Munich where the award certificates were presented.
